Why a hierarchy is needed

Braid labels are inferential summaries. OmicsBraid therefore separates global evidence, practical equivalence, direction, ordered trend, and sign inversion before assigning a class.

Confirmatory and suggestive states

The package intentionally distinguishes confirmatory labels from suggestive geometry. This prevents imprecise data from being forced into biologically attractive categories. Buffering and emergence are particularly dependent on equivalence power and should be reported with their status.

Inversion and cancellation

A vector such as (+1.0,+0.8,1.0)(+1.0,+0.8,-1.0) can have a small signed consensus while still containing strong multivariate structure. OmicsBraid reports the consensus, omnibus evidence, heterogeneity, and braid geometry separately so cancellation is visible rather than silently averaged away.
